The Mountshannon Community Council are a democratically elected volunteer group that meet fortnightly.
They address some of the issues of concern to the local community, manage such things as the direction of the local FAS team,
over seeing the establishment of the annual Tidy Towns Committee and most recently the construction of a new Child care
facility at the Iniscealtra National School and are working on a new Playground in the environs of the Aistear park.

There is a wide variety in age and experience on our new committee. We look forward to working as a group
over the next four years representing the community and its people. Work is currently being planed and the
council have met on five occasions since the New Year.
Issues of concern and projects for the future can be brought to any member for discussion at future meetings.
This elected office will bring the community council to its 20th anniversary a notable achievement for
any voluntary activity
