A little bit about this site

Mountshannon.com is the property of the Mountshannon Community Council and is the official on-line face and voice of the Community Council and the community at large which they have been elected to represent.

There has been a Mountshannon.com website in existence for a number of years now, but like many such websites it suffered from managment and ownereship issues and the need to be up-dated. Efforts were made in recent years to reconcile these issues with a revison and reworking of the site. In more recent months another review has been undertaken with the election of a new Community Council.

As part of this rejuvination it was decided to try and get a lot more active and archive content onto the site, with a perticular focus on our social structure. To this end we have created a Clubs & Associations section to help reflect the hobbies, interests, past times and infrastructure of the locality. This should give the casual visitor a better feel for the people of the area and also act as an information hub for the resident population.

Thanks:
Thanks go out from Dave Mooney to Martina Lammers for her support, helping with trans-typing of content and proof-reading, John Tiernan (P.R.O.) & Tom Allen for letting me pick up where they left off, and in Tom's case for the hosting, setting up e-mail address and other technical stuff etc. Thanks to all those that supplied profiles on their groups and to all those that have ever written about Mountshannon, I've learned a lot. Thanks especially to the Mountshannon Community Council and Tom MacNamara (FAS CE Scheme Supervisor) for trusting me and letting me at this project as part of my time on the scheme.
